VIDEO: Osteoarthritis Is a Serious Disease

At the 2018 annual meeting of the American College of Rheumatology, CreakyJoints had the opportunity to speak with Lee Simon, MD, a rheumatologist in Cambridge, Massachusetts about what it’s like living with osteoarthritis (OA), the most common type of arthritis in America. Because OA is commonly described as the “wear-and-tear” kind — and often occurs as a result of aging — it can be perceived as less serious than inflammatory kinds of arthritis like rheumatoid or spondylitis. But OA can be debilitating and lifechanging for patients, and it’s important to learn about all your options for taking care of your health, managing pain, and minimizing progression. Here’s what we learned about OA from our chat.
