Seth Prepares to Speak before the FDA

It’s an exciting day, when I get to present to the FDA on behalf of the entire CreakyJoints / GHLF community! This afternoon I am in Silver Spring, Maryland, for the FDA Arthritis Advisory Committee on Anti-Nerve Growth Factor Drugs. Basically, this is the body of scientists and doctors who recommend to the FDA whether or not to approve drugs, or in the case of this meeting, to approve a clinical trial of a new type of drug for osteoarthritis pain.Seth Prepares to Speak before the FDA

These nerve growth factor inhibitors are a recent discovery that could potentially – and dramatically – reduce pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Which I know for me, and probably you, this would spell sweet relief.

The point I’m making to the FDA is that they should at least consider studying this medicine and understanding its effects before unilaterally shutting down any clinical trials or future studies.

Now I’m no doctor – though my mother still wishes that I were – but this sounds promising! The point I’m making to the FDA is that they should at least consider studying this medicine and understanding its effects before unilaterally shutting down any clinical trials or future studies.

I hope they listen! We’ll be following this closely.

What do you think about the potential for new drugs to treat arthritis pain?
