On Wednesday I have an appointment with a new cardiologist. And I’m afraid of the results. I haven’t studied this hard for a test since the SAT’s. What I’m nervous about is him telling me that things are way out of whack and that I’m on borrowed time. Extreme? Yes. But I’m a sucker for the dramatic.
The bigger issue is the fact that I haven’t seen a cardiologist since mine retired from the “service” two years ago. Which means I haven’t been under the care of a cardiologist for an atypical heart rhythm for that entire time. Not the best situation, but so far so good.
Hence my apprehension. It’s like I’ve gone so long that I’m 1. Embarrassed and 2. Nervous.
If this doesn’t go the right way, I hereby leave my stereo and all my records to my brother Justin.
