Recognize the opportunities
Dear Ms. Meniscus,
My little sister is driving me crazy. She wants to follow me everywhere. But I don't want her to.
What do I do?
- Connor in South Carolina
Dear Connor,
Your sister tags along because she loves you, admires you, and wants to be just like you. But your parents have already told you that.
If that's not enough, think of it this way: be nice to her and you have a willing friend who will help clean your room and fetch you that cool glass of Kool-Aid.

Dear Ms. Meniscus,
My boyfriend has moved away for the summer for a job and I miss him terribly so. All I want is for him to come back.
I can't stop thinking about him.
- Missing Love in Connecticut
Dear Missing,
I want you to do something for me. Take your right hand, hold it approximately six inches away from your face ... and then run into it. You need to wake up.
This is a golden opportunity for you.
Have you been putting off projects because you couldn't find time, what with balancing work and your relationship? Do them now. Have you avoided frequenting favorite hot spots because your partner doesn't like them? Visit them now.
Take the time to do all of the things you've been missing out on -- without worrying that your partner feels left out. (He can't. He's 500 miles away.)
You'll be so busy doing things you love, the time until his return will fly by.

Dear Ms. Meniscus,
I have been driving a 40-minute, one-way commute to work for two years. Now, however, I was just offered a job at the office two blocks from my apartment.
What should I do?
- Al with the Pouty Car
Dear Al,
Any opportunity to escape the road raging rush hour drivers, save on $4-a-gallon gas, and increase daily exercise by walking to work is a no-brainer.
TAKE THE JOB.
