From Kappa Kappa Gamma to KARDed — and Everywhere in Between!

I definitely felt the stress of rush in my joints last week but hopefully — now that the process is over — I will be able to get back to my normal sleeping and medication schedule.
The first month of being a college student has been fun, but now the hard part is kicking in. Midterms are fast approaching and my calendar is filling up, especially this past week — which has been anything but boring.
Bid night was last Monday and I am officially a pledge of Kappa Kappa Gamma! After making my calendar for October, I am praying that I haven’t gotten involved with too much too quickly. Between going to chapter meetings for KKG, giving tours Tuesdays and Fridays, and being a team member of the Student Alumni Organization, I am having to budget my time better than ever. I definitely felt the stress of rush in my joints last week but hopefully — now that the process is over — I will be able to get back to my normal sleeping and medication schedule.
When those two things are out of sync, I definitely feel it.
I am so thankful that I have had such good luck getting involved and selected for everything in which I have been interested. I have the feeling of being overwhelmed right now — but I know that once I adapt myself to my new, busy lifestyle, everything will fall into place.
On the home front, I am also making phone calls back home nearly every day, making sure everything is running smoothly with the Halloween Boo Bag fundraiser that is in its fourth year of existence. So far there are seven schools that will be selling over 4000 candy grams benefiting my KARDed program. Sold at a dollar a piece, all of the money raised will go to the Arthritis Foundation. I am so blessed that my mom is watching over the process this year, seeing as I am living on the other side of the country. I am hoping to bring KARDed to Pepperdine at some point this year … but before I take on that task, I am going to make sure to stay healthy and attempt to make it to all of my meetings.
