Fighting off the common cold
Written by Seth on October 9, 2012
This week has been a good one, despite having a lot of colds and flus and infections thrown our way (in New York, you’re never more than 10 centimeters from someone who is sick). We managed to escape (relatively) unharmed.
It makes me wonder about the common cold. How could medical science, in the 21st century, be as advanced as it is, while overlooking one of the most important and common ailments that we face: that feeling when your head gets blocked up, your nose runs, your throat hurts, and your energy is tapped.
We can put a man on the moon, and we can slice bread with a robot, but we can’t stop a third grader from infecting an entire apartment building??
