Signing books today in North Carolina

Posted by Carolan Ivey at December 28. 2008

Hi gang,

I'll be signing books today (Dec 28) from 5-7 p.m. at the High Point, NC Barnes & Noble at Oak Hollow Mall. Corner of Eastchester and E. Hartley. If you're not busy I'd love it if you could stop by and say hi! (I'll be the lonely one sitting at a table all by myself. LOL)

Best of luck Carolan, I hope it all goes well and you get tonnes of signings or at least before your hand cramps.

Sorry I can't make it - different city, different state, different country, different continent.   I think I'm on the same planet although I sometimes wonder about myself -lol!

Dozey.

Carolan,

Are your books in electronic format to be downloaded or used on an Amazon Kindle?

Yes, ma'am!  Everything's available on amazon for the Kindle, and at other ebook outlets like fictionwise.com, allromanceebooks.com, and mybookstoreandmore.com for other ereaders. :)

Actually I'm embarrassed to say it did not come off as planned. I showed up for the event and discovered the manager hadn't ordered in any of my books. :(

Oh well, it's not a huge deal...I was already in town to see my parents so it's not like I traveled all the way down here just for the signing. THEN I would have been livid. LOL

These things happen!

okay i ordered two that are available. amazon keeps saying Beaudry's Ghost is not available, though when you try to suggest the publisher make it avalible it says it is. i'll figure it out even if i download it from mobipockets and have it converted from amazon for 10cents.

Amazon still has the old edition on their site, along with the new one. I can't get them to delete the old edition. Click here:

Oh, did you want a Kindle edition?

I see what you mean. Weird, it WAS available on ebook!! What the heck?? Argh.

You can go here and look at a variety of places to  download it: http://www.carolanivey.com/buylinks.htm I'm pretty sure MobiPocket is one of the formats sold.

Okay, I have my publisher's bulldog working on the problem. Thanks for the heads-up, Tessa!  I had no idea there was a problem with that ebook on Amazon, [[hug]]

Carolan, Your welcome, I have read a bunch of reviews on Beadury's Ghost and I really was waiting for my kindle since i am still one armed (handed). I am downloading it from Mobipockets and having it converted in the meantime. I did buy the other two that are available on Amazon and will start reading them when I am finished Wizard's First Rule.  I have about 30 books on the kindle and 4 started in hardback that i can't seem to carry around right now.

If you hear anything from your publisher let me know, I will post the fix on the Kindle Discussion website. I was going to send a note to Kindle Support if you still want me to let me know.

If you don't mind emailing support, it wouldn't hurt. :)  Someone at my publisher is looking into it, but the more squeaky wheels the better!

I would LOVE to have a Kindle. I have a Sony (bought from a friend who upgraded to a Kindle) and I like it well enough, but I like the Kindle's screen resolution a lot better, and the fact that you can download books directly to the device. With the Sony, I have to put it on my laptop then transfer it with the Sony software.

The Kindle is on my list right behind one of those mini-laptops that would be heaven to travel with. :)

I looked at the new Sony and to be honest the ability to download from anywhere with out hooking up to the laptop was one of the selling points.  If you decide to go for a Kindle you will love it.

I saw the mini laptops and I had to say NO because I am an Techno Geek enough. I bought the new LG Dare Cellphone today so between, the Kindle, the Cellphone, the iPOD; I have to stop with the gadgets.I already have two laptops on my office desk....  Oh well.... maybe next year.
