Hi I am New
Up to The Newbie Board
H I am new to your site. I actually joined a little while ago but just now have a little time to really see what the site is all about and it is wonderful ! I was DX about 20 + years ago with RA . I now have a few other forms of arthritis that decided to come a board and stay . I am on Enbrel and Methotrexate , morphine ( spelling may be wrong ) for pain. But to be honest I really try to never take the pain med if I can at all help it . I am afraid of it . I was on Loritabs for years and recently went to pain management and was told that loratab was for short term use , so i could no longer have it . That was a shock to me, I always thought morph. was such a hard drug and it was for the worse of the worse pain , which I have most of the time , but never would have thought this drug was for me . I guess I was wrong . If anyone on here knows anything about the two pain meds please share . I would like to know if morph is really easier on the body as I have been told and if this has happend to anyone else .
Thanks you all in advance and I am happy to be here .
Hi Melinda! Welcome to the Creaky boards!
I'm also on mtx and Enbrel, both injectible. I'm not on any pain meds other than an NSAID (Mobic), but I've read that people like us with chronic pain react differently to narcotic pain meds than those who don't really "need" it. Just a theory, though.
Make yourself at home. When the weather gets nice the board tends to get a little slower, so be patient.

Welcome Melinda!
I have not ever had morphine except after surgeries. It makes me mean.
I do take pain meds. though as I am trying to go back to work, and its the only way I can make it through my internship.
I used to be afraid of pain meds too, but I have recently come to the conclusion that they seriously increase the quality of my life, so I just take them and keep it movin'!
Hope you like it here!!!
