Things that have helped me this week

Posted by Kat at May 28. 2009

I’m normally very good at hiding my pain at work.  I don’t want my bosses to think that I can’t handle my job.  This week the pain in my hips and back has been so bad I am having trouble walking and holding back tears.

Today my boss surprised me.  He gave me a warm fatherly look and told me I could work in a back (non glass) conference room so I could try to get in to a comfortable position with my heating pad.  Sometimes it’s the little things that make this bearable.

Other things that have helped me deal with the pain this week…

This board… thank you all so much!!

The Spoon Theory (please tell me you have all read it)

My friends and Family

My Cats (who always seem to know when I’m not feeling well)

Laughter

Music (mostly James Taylor)

Drugs

And… Reality TV and Soap Operas….  Follow my logic… I may not be able to walk right now, or open jars, or put on my own damn socks…. But I don’t have 8 kids, I don’t need to kill my own food, and above all…no member of my immediate family has ever come back from the dead with amnesia and pregnant with my baby.
