Taylor Gets a Job. Or Two.

Taylor takes limes and turns them into limeade.

I joked with my Mom the other day that my life as a social butterfly has ended.  Now I'm working eight hour shifts one place and five at the other, both keeping me on my feet all day.

Summer time consists of spending days out in the sun, relaxing, sleeping in, and cherishing the time you have before school starts. This has been about two weeks of my summer.

In April, my parents were on my back about not having a job.  So, after applying to many places that conveniently weren't hiring, I thought I was out of luck.  Two months later, I am knee-deep in long work hours -- selling school uniforms and working at a frozen yogurt shop.

I joked with my Mom the other day that my life as a social butterfly has ended.  Now I'm working eight hour shifts one place and five at the other -- both keeping me on my feet all day.

Currently, exhaustion is the only pain with which I'm dealing.  But I have a feeling that come tomorrow -- my first twelve-and-a-half hour day -- it will be a different story.

I am extremely thankful to have my two jobs, which will give me a little bit of extra cash for college in the fall.

The bad part?  Now that I'm making money, my parents have decided that giving me allowance money for socializing isn't necessary.  Now every time that I buy a cherry limeade at Sonic, I'm finding myself really thinking about how a $2 item is worth about 15 minutes of my life.

Taylor,

It is so admirable that you are working so hard this summer, just be careful not to overdo it! :)
