This weekend the ‘arthritis swagger’, as I like to call it, came back in full form. It started on Saturday morning with a trip to the gym – and why not? It has been a month, so that felt like as good a time as any to have a go at the treadmill. Well, it’s never that easy. I spent the morning pushing it too much, and the afternoon in full recovery mode. By Saturday night, when I was expected to be at my best – for an 80’s cover band – I felt the fruits of my labor (or, more accurately, the side effects) paying off, and reminding me to stretch for as long as I work out next time.
That didn’t stop me from shaking my caboose all night long. Which, in retrospect, was probably a better workout than anything I could have done earlier that day at the gym.
