Seth is covered in snow and proposes an executive order

Seth shares his thoughts on the snow.

Unless you’ve been living on the shores of Hawaii’s Big Island, you’ve probably gotten hit with the winter storms this season. New York City has seen an all-time record in snowfall, something like 42 feet at last count. It’s maddening to think that every week there’s a new storm, which dumps more snow, and temperatures remain stubbornly cold. Snow is one part of mother nature that doesn’t coincide well with arthritics. The mere mention of snow makes my back spasm, and I have been witness to so many people (especially the elderly) waging war with the snow, in an effort to clear it off the sidewalk. It’s really, really easy to overdo it and pull a muscle, strain a this, tear a that – and we haven’t even gotten to the sledding injuries. If I were President for a day, one of my priorities (granted, not one of my first) would be to mandate that anytime there’s a snow day and school is closed, children would be forced to do the snow shoveling.

Why aren’t they earning their day off? Why would any senior citizen in New York City have to shovel snow when there are a million kids celebrating their day-long snow related independence?
