Seth gets a follow-up from his dermatologist
This wasn’t that great – if I were you, I’d come back in so we can get this whole thing off of your back
This past week I went to the dermatologist (post-Caribbean vacation) to do a quick scan and make sure nothing looked out of the ordinary. So, to my dismay, when something did look suspicious I ultimately took comfort in electing to go see the dermatologist for no real reason. When he saw a mole he didn’t like on my back, he asked “how long has this been here?” to which I answered “I don’t know, the eyes in the back of my head haven’t worked since I was 9”. He took a little bit out, threw it in a test tube, and sent it away. So I forgot all about it.
Until today, when I got a call that didn’t include the best news. “There are good outcomes and not so great outcomes” he said. “This wasn’t that great – if I were you, I’d come back in so we can get this whole thing off of your back. I’m not worried, so you shouldn’t be.”
Does that mean I am not allowed to worry? I’ll be back in the next week or two (funny how easily it is to procrastinate) and hopefully put this sucker to bed, but in the meantime I am slated for 6-10 more gray hairs.
My only hope is that this little experience results in the “distinguish graying” that I have always wished I had.
