Laurie Ferguson has been a friend of CreakyJoints since our inception, frequently speaking at our "offline" events around the country both in-person and through communication feeds.
We are thrilled to welcome her to the CreakyJoints.org team, where she will now helm our Ethereal Cereal section. Twice a month, she will share tips for a happier outlook on life with arthritis, as well as successful experiences from her years of private practice.
A health psychologist, motivational speaker, and Presbyterian minister, Laurie graduated cum laude with high honors from Smith College in 1977, received her Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1980, and received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the Derner Institute at Adelphi University in 2004. Her dissertation topic was "Coaching for Hardiness: A Study of Clergywomen and Stress."
In addition to her private practice, Laurie travels the country speaking at both doctor and patient events focused on chronic illnesses. She also speaks to corporate, civic, sports, high school, university, and fraternal groups about swimming, staying focused on goals, and motivation.
